The above table ranks the ten most important species by value at first sale landed into Scotland during 2006, and relates these to volumes.  It also gives average value and volume over the previous five years (2002 to 2006).

The top ten species accounted for approximately 90% of the total value as illustrated below, and Langoustine was the highest value species with a 27% share.

In 2006 just over £323.6 million of seafish was landed into Scotland by UK vessels.  Shellfish was the largest value sector, accounting for over 40% of landings.
