The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) celebrated their centenary year at a gala dinner at The Midland Hotel, Manchester, on Sunday 23rd June. Seafood Scotland sponsored the fish course at the event, working with head chef Andre Matter to put MSC Scottish haddock on the menu.
Haddock is one of the most important white fish species for the Scottish fishing industry and the fish friers trade, and Seafood Scotland wanted to ensure that guests could enjoy it at the birthday celebrations.
Seafood Scotland Chairman Iain MacSween was invited as a VIP to the celebrations, to network with friers, suppliers, and key sector representatives.
The sponsorship is part of a wider programme to support and raise awareness of Scottish MSC haddock amongst the food service sector and fish friers.
"Scottish haddock is plentiful, sustainable and high quality, and we are proud to see such an excellent product on the menu at this event," said Graham Young, head of Seafood Scotland.
