Canadian Food Inspection Agency - Updates to HS Code and and Other Government Department (OGD) extensions - Implemented 1st Jan, 2017
As a result of the 2017 realignment to the Harmonized System (HS) Code structure, which was implemented by the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) on January 1st, 2017, it is necessary for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to make necessary updates to its database of HS Codes and Other Government Department (OGD) extensions. The goal of this exercise is to align CFIA’s current OGD extensions under the new WCO HS code structure.
Chapter 03 was published to add the end uses; "Ceremonial or religious use", "Diagnostic testing", "Food Service", "Further Processing for Human Consumption", "Research and educational use", "Retail Use" and "Show or exhibition" to the following HS codes.
03.06.91 - Other: Rock lobster and other sea crawfish (Palinurus spp., Panulirus spp., Jasus spp.)
03.06.92 - Other: Lobsters (Homarus spp.)
03.06.93 - Other: Crabs
03.06.94 - Other: Norway lobsters (Nephrops norvegicus)
03.06.95 - Other: Shrimps and prawns
03.06.99 - Other: Other, including flours, meals and pellets of crustaceans, fit for human consumption
