It aims to help the Scottish seafood industry build upon the success already seen by strengthening the local food and drink supply chain.
Bringing together a unique mix of experts to provide free advice presents a huge opportunity for suppliers and those looking to source local seafood. The Connect Local team has worked within the seafood and wider food and drink industry over a number of years delivering a range of workshops and helping to deliver events.
The team can provide one to one knowledge and networks to support entrepreneurs, organisations or groups in achieving their growth aspirations. Available are tailor-made training programmes, learning journeys or workshops to help improve marketing skills, support regionally based market development, forming common interest groups and supporting applications for protected food name status.
A range of promotional activities are being carried out to support awareness of seafood from Scotland to key local and UK target markets. These include regional branding exercises, educational features to over 45,000 chefs through the UK’s largest digital chef network, media and buyer study trips to industry, editorial in target foodservice publications, and attendance at leading events to educate and inspire buyers and culinary networks.
