John Ross is the oldest producer of truly traditional Scottish smoked salmon, in Scotland. Our historic brick kilns in Aberdeen have been used to produce smoked fish in the traditional way since 1857, and are recognised buildings of regional and historic interest by Historic Scotland. Our time honoured process produces an award winning range of smoked salmon products are distributed to both retail and food service in the UK and over 30 countries around the world. We are proud holders of the Royal Warrant and supply to the Royal network of kitchens in the UK and two time winner of Queen’s award for export (demonstrating our ability to deliver our smoked salmon new markets). Our handcrafted, and slowly oak and beechwood cold smoked, superior and sustainably farmed Scottish salmon is considered the most succulent and premium smoked salmon available.

Exporters of Scottish seafood to retail, wholesale and food service. Markets served include Far East, Middle East, USA, Russia and Eastern Europe. Our Finest Scottish Seafood brand for retail includes smoked salmon, salmon portions, cooked mussels, cooked brown and velvet crab, razors, scallops, langoustine, hot smoked mackerel and kippers and seasonal delicacies like hot smoked hake and new season squid. The same range of products is available in various formats for food service. We also export FCLs of Mackerel, Herring and salmon heads,, mainly to Eastern Europe and the Far East. We supply Scottish Seafood either frozen for sea freight or fresh by air freight.
