This week has seen the start of the extra busy period for the team at Seafood Scotland. Gulfood 2024 was held this week in Dubai and, once again, was a resounding success. Both us and the five Scottish companies visiting the show got a chance to make new business connections in the Middle East as well as continue to build on existing ones. Stay tuned for the full write up!
Following on very quickly from Gulfood, in a few weeks’ time we head out to Boston for Seafood Expo North America (SENA). Once again acting as hosts for the Scottish pavilion, we are extremely happy to betraveling with seven producer companies, each keen to export a wide range of products to the North America Market. SENA is North America’s largest seafood trade event, bringing together suppliers and buyers from all over the world to discover, sample, and source fresh, frozen, packaged, and value-added seafood products, equipment, and services.
The third upcoming show, which preparations are well underway for, will be Seafood Expo Global being held in April in Barcelona.
Next week, Marie-Anne Omnes, head of trade marketing – Europe, is attending the Fish International, Germany’s largest and only show representing seafood. Being held in Bremen, Marie-Anne is being joined by Peter Toholt from Scottish Development International, who specialises in the German food and drink market.
Germany is an important market for Scotland, especially for salmon; it’s one of the only EU markets, outside of France, that has responded very well to the French quality label – Label Rouge. Export figures are not always accurately report as most go through the Netherlands, but it is a strong fish export destination.
If your company is seeking a new challenge, Germany maybe the answer for you. If you are interested in finding out more, please do not hesitate to contact Marie-Anne.
